Cricket is a sweet, sensitive mare with a wonderful affection for people. She welcomes hugs, kisses, and grooming, and has an endearing way of resting her head on you when you need a little comfort. She is a gentle soul with plenty of love to give.
After being adopted from SERRA in 2020 by our dear volunteer, Dawna, Cricket spent six wonderful years as a cherished member of her family. Sadly, Dawna passed away unexpectedly, and this sweet mare is now looking for another loving home where she can feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
During her earlier time at SERRA, Cricket lived happily in a large herd and generally got along well with other horses. Submissive by nature, she appreciates a peaceful environment with considerate equine companions.
With some basic groundwork and riding lessons in her past, she has been described as gentle, intelligent, and willing. Her history even includes being tried as a polo horse, although that was not ultimately the life for her. Having not been ridden in approximately five years, Cricket is now seeking a home as a cherished companion rather than a riding prospect.
Reported to be in excellent health and sound, with no known vices, this affectionate mare enjoys life’s simple pleasures: a gentle touch, a good grooming, equine companionship, and the security of a loving home.
For the past six years, Cricket has shared her life with fellow SERRA horse Kid. Although they do not appear to be a bonded pair, we would be delighted to find them a wonderful home together if the right opportunity arises. Loving individual homes will also be considered.

We begin the process by having you fill out an Application for Adoption.
Once we receive your application we will go through a review process.
After reviewing, if certain criteria’s are met, we will approve the adoption.
